Adjust the assignment dates in Canvas to allow submissions to be made and ask students to resubmit directly through Canvas.Ģ. There are two options we advise academics of when students have submitted directly through Turnitin:ġ. We have also provided student focused guides for Turnitin assignments in Canvas that can be provided to students where necessary. To minimise this happening we have communicated heavily to teaching and support staff advising that they clearly call out in all Turnitin assignments in Canvas that students must not login to the Turnitin website to submit their assignments. We have spoken to Turnitin reps and they have advised there is no way to stop students submitting assignments directly through the website.
It is difficult as for some of our students this was the normal submission route and some students are still required to submit directly through the Turnitin website. This has caused the same issues as you described above. Hi this is our university's first semester using Canvas and we have found that some students are logging in to the Turnitin website and submitting directly from there.
